An MG enthusiast brought us this car "to do up". It was never going to be a simple task!

Removing the paint revealed an extensive rebuild would be needed.

And it wasn't just the upper body which needed attention.

We also had to cut away rotten floor and sill panels and fabricate new ones, weld them in and lead them in the old fashioned way to prevent corrosion.

With the foundations laid we could begin the work the customer wanted to see, starting with a thorough rub down...

Then a full coat of primer - universal grey at this stage...

Even throughout the engine bay as this would also be resprayed yellow...

Followed by the first top coat on the internals such as the boot...

And the engine bay...

Then another masking job before applying a second coat of primer to the bodywork to give the new top coat, when appplied, the lustre a classic like this should have.

Although this stage hides all the work up to this point, both we and our customers enjoy seeing the project nearing completion...

Now we just have to refit all the interior, the mechanical bits, bonnet, boot, glass, headlights, bumpers...

But the finished job (below)  makes it all worthwhile!
